I assist Dr. Spencer with the Criminal Justice Internship Program which allows me to gain a more in-depth understanding of the administration side of the Criminal Justice department. The work with Dr. Bowman gives me the opportunity to work on a grant which focuses on the effects of hip-hop on the present generation. Currently I am assisting Dr. Blair on his research regarding deception in interviewing and interrogation. I assist both professors with the proposal for the PhD program in Criminal Justice. The hope is to have the program running in the fall of 2008. I also assist Dr. Deibert with research projects dealing with juvenile sexualization and delinquency. On a personal level, I have prepared a paper which looks at juvenile female sex offenders (including factors which contribute to their offending and programs/treatments that can reduce chances of recidivism) which I will be presenting at the American Society of Criminology conference in November 2007. |
